The area should also be treated with a rust inhibitor and sanded again to prevent the rust from returning. Treatment of the rusted area will prevent the paint from eventually bubbling. There is no need to remove your metal shutters before painting as they can be spray painted onsite. Once the surrounding surface area is masked all visible areas and components can be spray painted together with any other visible boarding.
Unfortunately, it is a common mistake to believe that roller shutters need to be removed prior to painting. If spray painting an outdoor roller shutter it is preferable to wait for a clear dry day with minimal wind as this will help achieve a flawless finish. A windbreaker can be used to protect the area. Spray paint guns can be purchased off the shelf however these do not tend to be as powerful as the spray-painting guns we use that are specifically manufactured for this task. Our guns are able to be used in any condition. Once painted, it is usually touch dry in two hours, however, it would be desirable to allow at least three hours between coats.
